Kasey Hitt

Prior to moving to Mt. Juliet (near Nashville, TN) in 2008, Kasey (she/her) spent five years in Washington where she earned a Masters of Divinity and Certificate in Spiritual Direction at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. She grew up in Ohio and was a youth pastor in the United Methodist Church for five years in Missouri before heading to the Seattle-area. Being drawn to Spiritual Direction began after finding herself in the middle of burnout in a growing ministry. While God’s invitation had been there for a long time, it was during a week at a contemplative retreat for youth pastors she became passionate about Spiritual Direction and its practices. Realizing she had spent way too many hours “doing” things for and in the name of God and not much time simply “being” with God, she was excited to find a seminary that offered a 2-year Certificate in Spiritual Direction in addition to the MDiv. She continues to learn much about offering hospitality for the soul from her own Spiritual Director, Sister Maria Edwards at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Hendersonville, TN and her Spiritual Direction Supervisor, Sister Mary Rose Bumpus of the South Central Community Leadership Team of the Sisters of Mercy in Belmont, North Carolina. From pastors to physicists, stay-at-home parents to school teachers, religious to nonreligious, Kasey helps others discover the Wisdom within as they get in touch with God and their Authentic Self. Besides Spiritual Direction, she also offers retreats and classes and is a Level III Reiki Therapist. Currently, she is putting together an online Wisdom-based Spiritual Direction Certification program, the first cohort beginning fall 2021.

She graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in English Literature and from University of San Francisco with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. When starting her own therapy practice didn't happen as expected, she spent several years in the world of digital marketing agencies, client services, people management, and human resources. In her roles, she always turned toward helping people at work - creating training programs, doing personality assessments with my team, discussing career paths, and advocating for team members when performance review time came around. She spent a lot of time making sure clients were happy and offering them more; it was a lot of hours and she always felt like she was putting her family second- eventually, she burned out. She'd also invested a lot in therapy and then later going to a life/career coach. She felt like she needed to do something else. In June 2023, she completed the UC Davis Professional Coaching for Life and Work Certification program and became an ICF Certified Coach. She's been where you are and can help you to see what you really want and partner with you on the steps that it will take to get there. She will support you in cultivating a resilient mindset that embraces change as a catalyst for personal and professional growth. She'll help you overcome limiting beliefs, manage fear and uncertainty, and develop a positive mindset that empowers you to embrace new opportunities. Some clients are overwhelmed, burned out, and stressed; others need to boost their self-confidence and their resilience and find clarity in their next step in life. Other clients want to learn to communicate better, work on their work-life balance, and/or optimize work performance. Sylvie’s coaching style is to create a safe and caring environment where clients can be seen and heard. In addition, Sylvie uses the power of neuroplasticity to help her clients create new healthy habits and achieve their chosen goals.

Ashley Bassett

Ashley is originally from Michigan, but now resides in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Albion College with a B.A. in Biology with a pre-med concentration. Ashley originally wanted to be a pediatric surgeon because she loves kids and loves helping people. Instead, she found a different calling after she realized how much her very own personal trainer had changed her life. The change was not just physical, in fact, it was more mental than anything. She then decided to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, USA Boxing Coach and most recently a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. From her life experiences, Ashley knew she could help people on another level. Of all ages. Of all backgrounds. She wanted to share her story and show people they’re not alone in this thing called life. Fitness is so far beyond the physicality of someone. It is just as much their mind and their spirit. You can’t be healthy physically, if you’re not healthy mentally. But it wasn’t until her very own fitness journey that she realized this. Ashley understands it can very overwhelming to start working on your health and wellness. Her coaching style empowers and teaches her clients how to overcome this feeling of overwhelm through movement and mindset.

She is comfortable working with people of all faiths or no faith, equally. Cara received her Masters from Richmont Graduate University and her Bachelors from the University of Georgia. While grief is her specialty, Cara readily works with individuals and with couples experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-worth, co-dependency, relational issues, life transitions, addiction recovery, pre-marital, affair recovery, and more. Cara believes the most important element in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. Because of this, she works hard to understand each individual and create a safe and open space. While she works with a variety of therapeutic approaches, Cara finds most of her work centers around the Psychodynamic theory, recognizing that we all believe and inevitably behave the messages we narrate unconsciously. By understanding these beliefs and messages and how they originated, we can ultimately change all aspects of our lives.

Before journeying onto the path of coaching, Circle process work and facilitation, Esther spent nearly 25 years in print and non-profit media as a sales, marketing and fundraising professional all while serving on numerous non-profit boards honing her leadership skills. In 2012, Esther began her journey into coaching which immediately transformed her life and unveiled her true purpose to help others to (RE)member, (RE)connect, and (RE)claim their brilliance and to unapologetically lead from the inside/out. Esther believes that love is at the center of all leadership and uses love energy to inform her work. After leaving an 18 year career in public media she founded EBB 'n Flow Lifestyle | Leadership Coaching & Consulting where she, as the EBB 'n Flow Coach, focuses on professional and executive women leaders, particularly Black women and women of color, who have been silenced and sidelined. A natural born leader herself, and influencer she often challenged the status quo and found herself unsupported, pigeon-holed and marginalized as a leader. Her potential was stifled by those who had the authority and influence to mentor and sponsor her. It took her nearly 3 years before she gained clarity and understanding for the harm and trauma she experienced during her 18 year career. Empowered with a new vision, greater sense of purpose, more knowledge and wisdom Esther is bringing this work to the forefront. She's focusing on the untold stories of women leaders who have silently suffered the trauma of being sidelined and to help them creatively express their stories, (RE)align with their values, heal their voices, determine their purpose and define their mission. Esther is a self-proclaimed champion for the underdog, overlooked and underserved natural born leaders, women of color, who are leaders by title but silenced and sidelined within their organizations. In all that occurs in our life – from the mundane to the extraordinary, in the joys and in the sorrows – God is present with us and is drawing us into closer communion with himself. Kendra is a certified spiritual director and brings to her practice over twenty years of experience as a licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist. She most enjoys her work at the intersection of mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Whether in a therapeutic relationship or one of spiritual companioning (or a combination of the two) she sees this work as cultivating a depth of soul. At its foundation a relationship of spiritual direction is an invitation to be still and attentive to God in all the moments of our lives. As a spiritual companion, Kendra invites you into the sacred space where, together, we can explore your relationship with the Divine. This may include guiding you in creating a rule of life, practicing discernment, or learning a new spiritual practice. She also finds the use of poetry, art, and the exploration of dreams help connect us more deeply with God. Additionally, she has been studying the Enneagram for over fifteen years and has found it to be an incredibly helpful tool in understanding self and others better. In her work as a therapist Kendra's approach is psychodynamic, which means there is value placed on your early life experiences and family relationships and how those experiences are impacting your current behaviors and relationships. Her style is insight-oriented and relational, emphasizing the value of a safe and trustworthy therapeutic relationship. Kendra believes psychotherapy is a collaborative process where her clients can learn to cope with their current struggles while also fostering a curiosity about their deeper selves. Kendra is a certified EMDR practitioner and incorporates Internal Family Systems work as well as practices based on Interpersonal Neurobiology when appropriate. Nick McCollum

Having spent many years in non-profit and ministry settings, Nick knows the importance of individual healing, recovery, and personal growth for those working in those callings first hand. He also knows the challenges and struggles of those in more traditional business and marketplace settings, having spent many years in project management. Thus, Nick's approach to counseling and therapy is relational, story driven, and solution focused. It is founded upon the belief that humans are relational beings to the core. We live and thrive (and also suffer) in relationship with ourselves, others, God, and all of creation. Healing and growth, then, are fundamentally relational in nature. Where there is wounding in relationship, there is the need for healing in relationship. Nick then works with individuals and couples to help them come to bless the space between where they are and where they want to be as they recover their hearts and redeem their stories in the here and now. He seeks to make counseling a place of hope where clients can tell the truth about the pain of where they are, grieve the tragedy of where they’ve been, and dare to move into where they want to go.
