Youtrition, LLC (previously known as Allison Nutrition Consulting) is a 30 year-old nutrition firm of registered dietitians who use evidenced-based traditional and complementary/alternative nutrition therapy and healing practices. We provide a range services for individuals and families: individual consultations, support/coaching -including education, skill development (meal planning, preparation, shopping, eating out), and in-home sessions.
Clients range from those who struggle with a variety of nutrition related issues such as yo-yo dieting, eating disorders, autoimmune diseases, food sensitivities, diabetes, gastrointestinal and heart disease, to those wanting to improve their focus during their golf game, improve fitness, family meals, get through a marathon, play competitive soccer or a consult with their chef.
We approach our work from the perspective that your change and healing is a process rooted in guided self-exploration and discovery. Our dietitians are skilled in providing a learning environment that facilitates this. The result is lifelong healthier eating patterns and relationship with yourself and food.
Amy came to a practice of mindfulness following a 20-year marketing career and in the midst of a music career. She began her journey by (reluctantly) attending Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an 8-week course with a 40-year history of helping people develop their inner resources to face life’s challenges. Amy was both surprised and transformed by what she experienced, so much so, that she made the practice a high priority in her life. Her personal experience led her to explore how she could help others connect with the benefits of mindfulness.
At The Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt Medical in Nashville, Tennessee Amy had the opportunity to train under experienced teachers and develop her skills over several years of teaching MBSR. During this time, Amy also began teaching mindfulness workshops for corporations, including Capital One and CMT (Country Music Television).
By working with community organizations and other mindfulness teachers, Amy's hope is that many more people can learn and benefit from these simple yet transformative practices and mindsets.
In addition to being an MBSR teacher, Amy is also a trained Mindful Self Compassion teacher and a foundations level teacher of Svaroopa yoga, a very embodied and gentle style of yoga.
